Being a Chicagoan, one of the things I love seeing is when the homeless guys and hustlers get the dough they need to survive. I like to give and I live to see others give too. But one of the things that has caught my attention is that we often look at each other like, “whose gonna go first” because instinctively we want to give to those who have shown such humility in the face of the judgments we have about the poor and the struggling. I think and believe we have more respect and empathy for these folks than we are willing to show and I hope that as the mission of Love's War continues that we remember to show how we really feel about the warriors on the front lines of life's hurdles, that being getting your basic needs met; shelter, food, and love.
Let's get at that. :-)
