Breaking Up: You Are Beautiful (Part 2)

After a break up it can be hard to remember that you are beautiful.

You are beautiful because you are a whole person, with verve, vitality, breathe, creativity, and the tenacity to keep going when circumstances in your life impede you from experiencing the heights of happiness and contentment. You will always be beautiful and it can never be diminished. Remembering this is one of the hardest things to do because: (1) Society does us no favors in constantly selling the dream of perfect companionship. (2) Society additionally does us no favors by equating companionable attractiveness with 'sexy', 'hot', 'fuckable', and other phrases that are purely are about if the individual doesn't inspire you to put a paper bag over their head if you had to do them.

(3) Relationships are about forgetting yourself. If you're centered on your needs, wants, and interests constantly, then you wouldn't really be falling in love, now would you? Losing yourself in a relationship is about the swirl, synergy, and exchange of the things that which make you precious. If you think nothing changes about you or the person after the relationship, you could be correct, but that would be little growth and I doubt very much that little growth happened.

Relationships are very important tangible and real things in our lives. They have the power to help you free up other portions of yourself and change your perception of the world around you. So one thing you might have lost along the way was remembering, you are beautiful beyond measure, and no one needs to tell you this, it just is.

You are beautiful because you have talents and skills, known and one's you aren't even privy to because you haven't had a life experience yet that allows them to shine. You are beautiful because you can appreciate beauty in its many forms. And you are beautiful because the very energy coursing through you leaves an impression where ever you go.
